Mariyalayam Charitable Trust was founded in the year 2000 and is registered on 17th April 2002. Reg No. 28/2002/4 with the prime object of promoting the general welfare ofmentally ill covered women of all religion, so that they live independently like other persons in the society.

Mariyalayam Charitable Trust is a Non-Profit charitable organization, which is managed by

Mr. N. V. Mathew and Mrs. Lilly Mathew in Ponkutty 40 KMS from Ernakulam.

mentally ill covered women are some of the most disadvantaged people in the world; having little access to medical care, there is little hope that they can escape from their illness.

What more attached to their illness means that they are often excluded from their home, families, communities and jobs. Sometimes they are even beaten and chained.

This houses about 40 Destitute who are mentally ill covered women. Most residents of Mariyalayam Charitable Trust are left by the family members and some are collected from streets.

The destitutes who are in the trust will remain responsible on the should of this old couple who have take a task of feeding, clothing, sheltering and caring for the destitute mentally ill covered women.

Visitors are always welcome to mingle with these people.
